What is a Holistic massage?

Holistic massage is about treating each client as an individual and  tailoring  the massage to their specific need. Rosie takes  into account your, physical, psychological  and emotional state of your body at the time of the massage. There is no fixed routine and Rosie uses a wide range of techniques such as gentle massage and stretches to deep tissue techniques to work sensitively with her clients rather than just giving a massage too them.

I am sometimes asked “how many sessions will be needed?” This is entirely dependant on the client as an individual. One session may be suffiecient, however, if the condition is chronic or long term, more sessions may be required. It may have taken a long time or something fairly substantial for your body to reach this state and realistically, this may not be resolved in one session.

What to expect:

Typically holistic massage involves you lying on a massage couch with supports for comfort and towels used to ensure your modesty. At Cramond Holistic’s Rosie uses songbird naturals massage wax formally known as Tui, which has a unique blend of Beeswax and Natural ingredients infused with different essential oils for a supreme massage experience. If you are allergic to nuts, please let  Rosie know and she can use Grace massage wax which is free from nut oils.

It is advisable to allow 15 minutes extra for your first visit, at no extra cost to yourself, to enable a confidential case history to be taken so that Rosie can give you the best possible treatment for your needs. Rosie will keep a confidential record along with relevant notes for future treatments.

It would be good if you could have a think about what you would like to gain from your treatment, and how you would like to feel afterwards, for example, reduced muscle tension, the feeling of relaxation, or if you would like me to concentrate on a particular problem and help to ease  it. You don’t have to have anything wrong with you to enjoy the benefits of massage and don’t worry if you can’t think of anything as we can work that out together.
